Sewing beanies became important to me when my mum was diagnosed with cancer. However, finding a stylish and easy-to-follow PDF pattern proved to be difficult as a beginner. Eventually, I found a free pattern on sewing org that had great measurements, but the instructions were confusing. Fortunately, our admin and sewing guru, Kiraleigh, helped me reword the instructions and perfect the pattern.
With my mum's beanie in hand, my daughters wanted one just like grandma's. So, we decided to include children's sizing and drafted the pattern with help from the amazing Liz from Thread Faction Studio. We hope this pattern can be a helpful resource for those who may need fool-proof instructions to make beanies for loved ones going through a difficult time.
We were moved by the support we received from the Fabric by Missy Rose Facebook Group. This small act of sewing and giving back to those in our local community is one way we can all make a difference. While we designed it to be a gift for loved ones, friends, and those who need a little extra heroism in their lives, we kindly ask that you do not use it for profit. Let's spread the love, one handmade Hero Halo at a time!

Thank you for sharing this pattern. I will be making some of these over the weekend for my Aunt who has just started Chemo. xx
Thank you very much for sharing the Hero Halo Missy Rose and Thread Faction. I used turbans all the time when going through chemo – hated my wig.
Hello Missy, I am a nurse, I look forward to making some of these beanies and donating them to the Townsville Hospital where I work during my upcoming holidays! Many thanks for making the pattern free, enables me to donate the fabrics and the time. It looks as if it will be easy to do! Many thanks again. Anne
